Free Peter Rabbits Family Recipes eBook For Kids

Recently I added a recipe for a yummy garden salad. What started out as making myself a salad has turned into a cool resource, just for you.

As I said before, I made myself a salad. Then I decided to share it with you and based the recipe name on Peter Rabbit (see previous post to find out why.) After posting, the gears began to turn. Did you see the smoke? ;) The mom/teacher part of me took over and I put together a free kids cookbook based on the foods mentioned in the Beatrix Potter story.

The Peter Rabbit’s Family Recipes ebook contains The Story of Peter Rabbit and several recipes which go along with the story. This makes it a great resource for parents, grandparents, teachers, or anyone who wants to cook with kids. Here are some ways you can use this ebook with the kids:

  • Write each character’s name on an index card. Match the recipes to their owner.
  • Print several images of each food mentioned. Cut out. Print each recipe. Place the food pictures on each recipe that contains that particular food. Chart which recipe uses the most images as well as which food is the most “popular”.
  • Label two index cards with “above” and “below.” Sort food pictures according to whether they grow (or are found) above ground or below ground.
  • To state the obvious, you can read the story and prepare each recipe with help from the kids.

There are just loads of ways you can use this free kids cookbook! Just turn your imagination loose to start the fun and learning. Oh, by the way, you can share this with your friends and blog readers. That’s why it’s in the “sharebie” category. ;)
